ILO Director’s Message for the 30th Anniversary of KESK
Dear friends,
On behalf of the International Labour Organization, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to KESK on its 30th anniversary.
For three decades, KESK has been a strong voice for public employees in Türkiye — defending their rights, promoting equality, and working tirelessly for social justice. KESK’s unwavering commitment to quality public services for all reminds us that decent working conditions and fair wages for public employees are essential to achieving that goal.
We also recognize KESK’s persistent efforts to improve the collective bargaining system, ensuring that workers’ voices are effectively heard in shaping fair labour relations. Likewise, KESK’s engagement in advancing the ratification and implementation of ILO Convention No. 190 on the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work reflects its determination to build safer, more respectful workplaces for everyone.
At the ILO, we firmly believe that independent, representative, and strong workers’ organizations are essential for achieving social justice and building societies based on decent work. KESK, with its 30-year tradition of advocacy and solidarity, remains one of our valued partners in this shared mission.
The ILO will continue to stand alongside KESK — offering support, dialogue, and cooperation — in its efforts to defend labour rights, strengthen social dialogue, and promote quality public services that benefit all citizens.
Congratulations once again on 30 years of dedication, courage, and commitment. We wish you continued strength and success in the years ahead.
Thank you.
