Jan Willem Goudriaan, General Secretary of EPSU, sent the a solidarity message to KESK members who marched from Batman and Edirne to Ankara as part of the collective bargaining agreement campaign for 2022-2023.
Message:
On behalf of EPSU, the European Federation of Public Service Trade unions, and our 8 million members across Europe I wanted to express our solidarity with struggle of Turkish public service workers for a Just society.
We support the fight of KESK and Turkish public services workers in the struggle for better pay and conditions.
Your actions and your marches from Batman and from Edirne and visiting 16 cities on the way to Ankara were followed by many in and outside of Turkey. They show how important it is for workers to improve the situation for them, their families and their communities.
Public service workers are in the forefront of the struggle to contain the pandemic and prevent and deal with disasters to ensure that everybody can realize human rights through public services. Public service workers deserve a good deal.
Your demands are based on the consultation of workers at the work places. They have broad support in Turkey and they reflect what public service workers in Europe and elsewhere seek.
1) Decent wage for all public employees,
2) Quality public services for all,
3) Secured universal basic income,
4) Job security, Secured Future,
5) Democratic and fair working conditions,
6) A meaningful Collective Bargaining mechanism
Mücadelenizi destekliyor ve başarılar diliyoruz.
