15 days have passed since the local elections in Turkey, but has not fulfilled the requirements of the will of lots of citizens mainly in Istanbul.
What happened in Istanbul after the opening of the polls has gone beyond the limit of the exercise of a right and has become a dangerous initiative in which all the institutions of the state are mobilized against the will of the citizens. In addition, it is completely unlawful to prevent the right to be elected after the election of those who have legal requirements in the process of being nominated.
Unfair, unlawful, unjust interventions of the institutions of the state, especially the judiciary to the right of citizens to vote and to be elected, and policy of “law according to the party” cannot be accepted.
It is obvious that this understanding, which does not respect the election results, will not respect our demand for economic, democratic and social rights.
As the process grows, the sense that “the one selected will not go with election” is strengthening every day and gives great harm to our country.
While Turkey has most serious problems, especially the economy, running our country should leave their approach deepening the problems and judicial institutions should take decisions in accordance with the law and its jurisprudence.
Respect the will of the people, respect the right to vote and be elected, respect Istanbul.
