On last 10th, a demonstration called by Confederation of Progressive Labor Unions (DISK), Public Workers Labor Unions Confederation (KESK) and other social and political organizations was the target of a bomb attack that killed around 100 people, and injured many others in Ankara. Just after the attack, the police violently attacked the demonstrators.
The peaceful demonstration urged Erdogan administration to stop the war against the Kurds, and demanded Jobs and Freedom, as labor and civil rights are under attack by this same administration.
Erdogan administration wants through the war and repression to intimidate the working class and divide the people along nationalistic lines in order to keep its rule.
CSP-Conlutas, a Brazilian Labor Federation, together with its associated unions and social organizations, want to express our condolences to the dead and solidarity with trade unionists and activists affected.
We reject these fascist attacks on social movements and also the repression carried out by Erdogan administration. We demand full accountability and punishment for all involved in this massacre.
We support the call to General Strike and stand in solidarity with Turkish and Kurdish workers in their struggle to end the war, for jobs and democratic rights.
